Digital images that consider the Church, not as a guiding light but as a centuries-old institution with a rich tapestry of stories. Most of the 35 pieces are straightforward interpretations of historic figures, often showing the darker and fallible side of human nature and Catholicism. Others capture more personal milestones or characters from the artist’s religious upbringing. These 33 digital images capture a moment in the relationship between artist and model, peeling back a curtain to expose thoughts, fears and dreams. Layered textures are combine with still life and landscape photography, antique documents, images from NASA and myriad other objects to create contemporary portraits with references to painting, history and environment.
